For me doors should be practical - easy to open, easy to maintain and service.
However we seem to be in an age where style is more important than practicality.
I don't remember the doors on the old station ever being a problem?
However the doors on Wokingham station now have sensors that often don't detect someone is there and take an age to open.
The platform side doors broke earlier in 2017 and it took nearly 2 months to get spares.
A return to timber doors anyone?
